England's 'Second City' welcomed thousands to
the global humanitarian service organization's milestone 100th convention.

Birmingham, England -- Rotary club member Wade Austin from the Manhattan Beach RC helped Rotary International bring the world to Birmingham, England June 18-24, when an estimated 20,000 participants from more than 150 countries and geographical areas joined together for the humanitarian service organization's annual convention, often described as a "mini-United Nations" because of its internationality and diversity.

This year's speakers included United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Mia Farrow, Actress, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and advocate for Dafuri war refugees, and Jane Goodall, renowned primatologist and founder of the Jane Goodall Institute.
