Senator Allen shares Rotary’s passion for lifesaving vaccinations. His father was a victim of polio, and Allen has been involved with the effort to tighten vaccination rules in California. He’s also sponsored an election reform bill, and chairs the education committee. He touched on a number of state issues – our interaction with the president (“I hope the governor and president will be able to work on infrastructure.”), the immigration debate (“40% of the state legislature are people of color.”), healthcare (“The state went all in; it’s quite a success story.”), and federal funds (“What happens if federal dollars come with strings attached?”).
