10/19/10 Meeting

This was a special Rotary Club Meeting because we had more guests honor
us by visiting than usual. Our main guest speaker was Mr. John Colville
(Past District Governor) from the Paramount Rotary Club who has
frequently come to our meetings in the past. We also had guests Jenny
Sul (Sr. Assistant Governor), Cheryl Wong (Rotaract Governor), Jennifer
and Kevin from the UCLA Rotaract Club, and Dwight Heikkila from the
Westwood Rotary Club.
President Ho gave some announcements at the beginning of the meeting as follows:
The guest speaker was the Past Distric Governor, Mr. John Colville. He mentioned how proud he was of our rotary club and how we had so many major donors compared to our club size. He recommended we work on having more female members. He spoke on how the Past President DJ Sun was honored by Past RI President DK Lee. He spoke on some of the future things they were planning as well.
Afterward we had a brief intro from all our other guests who came and spoke briefly. Dwight Heikkila mentioned their club was also having difficulties in recruiting and maintaining members just like our club.

- The Junju West Rotary Club anniversary celebration went well. We also received a "Thank You" plaque from them. Please see our photo album to see a picture of the plaque by clicking HERE.
- On 10/18 a group of our members were invited to join the Korean General Consul for dinner.
- 10/26 - Mr. Moon a sports reporter will be our guest speaker.
- 11/2 - District Governor will visit us.
- 11/9 - There will be a district breakfast, please check the district rotary site for details by clicking HERE.
- 11/10 - There will be a golf tournament for our members only at Mountain Gate. Tee off time is estimated at 12-1pm.
- 11/16 - The RI Director will give us a seminar on how to recruit and maintain new members. President Ho wanted to commit to 5-10 new members this year.
