Gift Wrapping

Our Club enjoyed a hands-on project this week.  Instead of listening to a speaker, we wrapped the presents, which our Club will give to especially needy first and second graders at our Christmas Party luncheon meeting.  There were 66 boxes to be wrapped, Barbie dolls in pink paper and Hot Cars in red.

  On each table were scissors and a tape dispenser, and Larry Garces soon had runners bringing cartons of boxes to each table, and rolls of paper.  At our table Pat Pratt took charge of the scissors, making a template and then cutting out equal lengths of paper.  Harold Tseklenis and Ray Brown wrapped while Chuck Hutchinson held down the neat square corners and Henry Veneration and Judge Phil Mautino applied the tape.

  Sixty-six presents were wrapped and stacked in only ten minutes, to await the fingers of excited school children to open them. “Many hands make light work” is a good motto for Rotary projects, and this one was enjoyed by all.
