The Rotary Club of Downey was “taken over” and today’s program was seamlessly run by Warren Interact Club.

The five officers of the Warren Club gave us a slide show of the achievements of the Club for 2016-2017.  “Only one more week,” and for the seniors, “this year is history,” said one senior, who is going on to UC Riverside.

Among other activities, the club hand-made cards to give to Veterans on Veterans Day, and Valentines for seniors on Valentine’s Day.

They also worked at the “Food Help,” a pantry food bank at Downey First Christian Church; and cleaned and beautified “the Pond” on the Warren campus.  Slides showed an empty water hole stuffed with rocks in a dusty corner, as “Before” and “After”, presented us with a clear water pool rimmed with flagstones in an alcove planted with green hosta and trillium, now a lovely meditation corner.

In response to our question, “What can our club do to help support you?” the incoming president, a junior now, said they would like it if some of us paid a visit to their club meeting on campus and saw some of the improvements, such as the Pond.
