SEAACA – what is it, and why is that cute little dog at the speaker’s table?

 

SEAACA serves the Southeast Area Animal Control Authority, and is dedicated to quality animal care and control.  Located at 9777 SEAACA Street in Downey, they can provide the right pet for you, and show you ways of responsible ownership.

Specializing in rescuing lost or abandoned animals, SEAACA spays or neuters each animal it receives, and gives it shots and rabies vaccination.  This is the place to go to look for your lost animal.

For only $135 you can take home a healthy dog who already has all of the foregoing plus has a microchip that has been imbedded in the back of its neck, to help locate it should it get lost.

All the new owner needs to do it get a license, which can be done right there.  For example, the cost to a Downey senior citizen for a license for a pet which has been altered, is $5.50.

Too many irresponsible people do not respect their pet’s needs, as Sally Hazenet, Executive Director, and Denise Woodside, Outreach Coordinator, pointed out.  Giving it plenty of exercise and play is good for you and your pet.  Training will strengthen your bond.

SEAACA Services include:

You may license your pet if you live in Bell Gardens, Bellflower, Buena Park, Downey, Lakewood, La Palma, Montebello, South El Monte, and South Gate at SEAACA.

SEAACA differs from the SPCA, which gives education and information. SEAACA actually shelters stray animals and prepares them for adoption, and offers instruction in training.  Staffed by professionals and volunteers and supported by contributions and a foundation, SEAACA has your next “best friend.” Right now.
