Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar

Having graduated from Loyola Marymount in 2012, with a B. A. in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business and Marketing, Stephanie won the opportunity to spend a year at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.  She enjoyed the biking, the canals and the flea markets.  Stephanie graduated with her Master’s of Social Sciences.  By living in Amsterdam she gained an appreciation for urban planning.   

Still under Rotary auspices she was able to continue her field service project in the Philippines.   Our Los Angeles District 5280 sponsored her, and her hosts were Rotary Club Amsterdam International, and Midtown Quezon City Rotary in the Philippines.  Her field project was studying the transition to standardize curriculum among First Grade classes.

Stephanie now works in the Los Angeles Unified School District, in the Parent and Community Engagement Office, where they are building a program to serve the families of the LAUSD.   Helping to enhance parent engagement in their children’s education, she teaches parenting skills to families.

Thanks to her involvement with Rotary, Stephanie has gained a wide array of professional experience in diverse communities around the world.  She intends on a career in public service.
