This week at our traditional Children’s Christmas Party, first and second graders in Downey schools will get Barbie Dolls and Hot Cars packaged by our members’ own hands.  A few eager wrappers had to go back to the supply table, to be sure they had bright blue paper for the boy’s present, and pink for the girls, but we managed to wrap all the gifts our Christmas Party Committee members had provided.  Thanks for doing a great job.

Getting ready for Santa to visit our meeting on December 9, gave us the hands-on touch and kept us busy for the program time this week.  Boys and girls, who would not otherwise have a Christmas, will join us for lunch, with their teachers and principals.  The kids are always too excited to eat the hamburger we provide.  They just manage to nibble a few chips while they wait.  As we all are singing” Santa Claus is coming to Town,” the familiar jingle of bells from the corridor and “Ho, ho, ho” tell us our mystery Club Santa has arrived. Who will it be this year?

Be sure to be present on December 9 for one of our nicest and most heartwarming programs.
