Angelo Cardono Sworen In

Before beginning his program for us, Judge Philip Mautino solemnly performed another duty.  He called Angelo Cardono up to the podium, and told the Club how Angelo had been closely involved with the creation and building of the Los Padrinos Juvenile facility, where today Phil is the presiding judge.

  Judge Phil also proceeded to tell us that when Angelo came to settle in Downey in 1946 after World War II, he wanted to learn to fly.  By 1949 he had become certified to pilot single and twin engine planes, and had his instrument rating.  Now just a few weeks ago, on December 31, 2012, Angelo retired from the cockpit, having completed over 15,000 hours, and sixty-three years of accident-free flying.

  Angelo has been on the Los Angeles Airports Commission for nine consecutive terms, and today before the whole club, Judge Phil swore him in, for his tenth term.

  After repeating after the judge that he would to the best of his ability protect, preserve and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California, against all enemies foreign and domestic, it was clear that Angelo had also just been sworn in as President of the United States and as Governor of the state of California.  The Club gave Angelo a standing ovation.
