The Carson-Gardena-Dominguez Rotary Club's two generosity projects, Operation Gobble and Operation Santa, of 2023 have come to a close. We thank all our support and partners who made it possible to aid 500 families and 115 children through these programs. We invite more individuals or potential collaborators to reach out if you are interested in making an impact in your local communities through the great works being done at CGD Rotary.
With great thanks, we were able to accomplish great works for our community. In partnerships with local schools and organizations, we were able to identify so many families in need of some holiday cheer this year. The Carson-Gardena-Dominguez Rotary Club completes two large-impact projects every year: Operation Gobble and Operation Santa.
In our Operation Gobble program, we are able to provide Thanksgiving meal boxes to hundreds of families. This year we were able to achieve 500 boxes packed. This is largely in gratitude to our many partners such as Superior Grocerers, Watson Land Company, the City of Gardena, California State Water Company, Air Products, Carson Double-Tree, and so many more partners. We thanked some of these amazing contributors at our meeting. However, our season of giving just begins with that project.
We continue with our Operation Santa program where we identify families in need of some Christmas presents due to their various circumstances whether that be related to family issues, housing, or other situations. Through the help of some of those previous sponsors and our stellar club members, we were able to provide Christmas presents, gift cards, and holiday cheer to over 115 children. The joy brought to these families we know extends far beyond our understanding, but we are so fortunate to have the support we have as a club to be able to do such compassionate projects.
