At our last meeting in September, guest speaker Adam Galia from Boeing delivered an insightful presentation titled "From Deep Sea to Deep Space." Galia highlighted Boeing’s 108-year legacy as a global aerospace leader, operating in over 150 countries with a workforce of more than 170,000, including a proud 15% veteran employee base. In California alone, Boeing employs over 14,000 people and supports over 30,000 retirees.
Galia discussed Boeing’s advancements, particularly the Wisk, a fully autonomous air vehicle, and the Extra-Large Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (XLUUV), delivered to the U.S. Navy to enhance undersea operational capabilities. The XLUUV, an autonomous vehicle, is used for missions such as mine countermeasures and anti-submarine warfare.
He also emphasized Boeing's commitment to the community through support for STEM education and veterans, promoting initiatives that inspire the next generation of scientists and honor those who have served.
