105 lives saved thanks to the blood drive efforts of the California Academy of Mathematics and Science (CAMS), the American Red Cross, and the Rotary Club of Carson Gardena Dominguez.
On February 24, students from the California Academy of Arts Mathematics and Science (CAMS), professionals from the American Red Cross, and our Rotary Club of Carson Garden Dominguez joined forces on a blood drive.
CAMS Cams Asb is a public magnet school on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills . After learning that the CAMS Red Cross Club blood drive was short on registrations, the CGD Rotary Club offered See's chocolates to support donation efforts. The CAMS students were excited about the support from our Rotary Club, and their efforts to register donors and walk-ins increased significantly.
All in all, the blood drive was a SWEET success with the collection of 35 lifesaving units of blood, contributing to the saving of up to 105 lives!
