Meeya Wallace-Sparvier and Finlay MacDonald, students from F.H. Collins Secondary School participated with some 150 students from across the country, including Nunavut, in Ottawa from May 14-17 in the Rotary Club of Ottawa's Adventure in Citizenship program, which has run continually since 1951. There, they went on tours, attended lectures, discussion and numerous social events designed to enhance their understanding and appreciation of Canadian citizenship. They had the opportunity to tour the House of Commons and meet the Speaker of the House. As well, they visited the Museum of History and the War Museum.
Meeya and Finlay joined us on Tuesday evening to share some of their experiences and show some of the highlights of their visit. Both were very impressed with the experience.
Director Susan Graves helped recruit and register the students, and organized their travel arrangements.
