First City Rotary - Meets Thursday mornings at 7 a.m. at the Cape Fox Lodge

You are welcome to visit us in Ketchikan, Alaska!

First City Rotary was established in 1988, in Rotary District 5010. We have a signature event, the "Annual Duck Race" which raises over $33,000 to support youth education and enrichment activities, college and vocational scholarships, local community service projects, and more. In 2019-2020, our projects will focus on improving life for elderly residents at the Pioneer Home and preschool children. Our club supports the Rotary Foundation and Polio Plus disease eradication. Together, we do great things.

We are a fun, friendly breakfast club that enjoys fellowship activities and doing good in the world.  We look forward to meeting you!

First City Rotary proudly sponsors the Interact Club at Ketchikan High School.
The Interact Club does year-round projects, fundraising and volunteer work.
This photo is from their annual Pie Sale to benefit the Ketchikan Pioneer Home activity fund for elderly residents.
These young Rotarians are amazing!

President Chris Baca 2014-15 presented the first check of $5,000.

President Sue Bethel held a fundraiser with UAS & Allen Marine. Following Presidents raised more.

After three years, the endowment was fully funded at $25,000.

First City Rotarian Jim Dahl has been a longstanding advocate for polio eradication.
He did a Rotary Foundation Awareness Ride across Alaska and Canada to raise funds for The Rotary Foundation and Polio Plus.
Jim also donated this brand new motor scooter to be auctioned for the Foundation, and has contributed so much over the years.
Thank you for being a great example and promoting health initiatives worldwide through Rotary. We are THIS CLOSE to ending polio!
President Elect Chief Steve Rydeen awards Dave Dixon with his Red to Blue Badge.  Membership Chair Helen Mickel stands by!

Rotary Celebrates Vocational Awards during October.  We had three winners this year.  This was a joint project with First City Rotary, Rotary 2000, and Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce.
