Housing First Bed Move-In Service Project

Volunteers pause for a photo on bed move-in day, at the Juneau Housing First supportive housing unit, which will open mid-September. Rotarians came together from the Rotary Club of Juneau, Juneau-Gastineau Rotary, Juneau Glacier Valley Rotary, Rotary Club of Juneau 58º Innovators, Rotaract, and Interact clubs to purchase and distribute beds and mattresses into the building's 32 studio apartments.

Club presidents from the five Juneau clubs and Rotaract pose on one of the beds, with the well-known Rotary Wheel.

Inbound youth exchange students: Erik (Sweden), Josephine (Denmark), and Giulia (Italy), help carry mattresses on move-in day.

The outside crew offloads the last of the bed frames from the deliver truck. The weather "mostly" cooperated.

Juneau Rotarian, Marian works with teen volunteers from Thunder Mountain Interact Club, and Rotary Youth Exchange.
