It's amazing how much business this Club can accomplish when we need to.

This was our Club Assembly, we had lots to cover. First, it was great to have Debbie Rinckey attend. Debbie has submitted her membership application, so after we conduct our thorough background check, interviews, reference checks, emissions tests, psychological profile analyses, we'll vote her in.

We discussed our Colima Mexico Literacy project. We have a District Grant approved and recently were notified that our Rotary International Grant was approved. We need to raise something like $3,248 or so. Thanks to many members of our Club, we received pledges for $2,000 of that right then and there. Thanks to all of you who committed at the meeting and to all who will help us make up that final difference.

We also approved our Budget at the meeting. Thanks to our Treasurer, Eric who, assisted by Tonya, prepared the budget.

Another major topic was the redistricting initiative. Mike Fuller provided us some historical perspective on our Club's role in extending Rotary to Eastern Russia. Ray filled in a few spots, and I read an email from Meg. There was some very thoughtful discussion on how this will play out. We voted in favor of the proposal which I will sign and send off to District.
