Dr. Sylvia Condy with the Coast Guard Auxiliary was our guest speaker today.

Guests: Mike Fuller, Katja Hansen, our exchange student, and Dr. Sylvia Condy from Anchorage East.

Not too many annoucements this week - Martin thanked Doug for heading up the Highway Clean-up Program for another year. Since we got rained out last week, we are done for the year.

It looks like Mary Ann has the volunteers that she needs for the 1st quarter Most Improved Student Luncheons. Thanks to Mary Ann, Owen, Martha, Ray, Martin, Brad, Steve Parker and Tonya for participating. This is one of the best programs our club does.

Martin announced that his opera group "Bel Canto" will be performing in the Discovery Theater at the PAC on Nov. 10 at 8pm. It will be a humorous introduction to opera. This is their first time performing at the PAC and they are looking forward to it.

Our guest speaker, Dr. Sylvia Condy, with the Coast Guard Auxiliary spoke about the what the Auxiliary does here in Alaska. They teach water and boat safety, rescue people out on the water, and do inspections of boats and let you know what the Coast Guard requires. If you do not have those items, the Coast Guard will ticket you. She is a member of the Whittier Flotilla which our own Pete Mulcahy has just joined. Membership is $35 and you get a hat along with some other supplies. There is even an Eagle River Flotilla. Pete emailed everyone the info on the Flotillas in the area. It looks like fun.

Next Week: Peter Risse with UAA ER Campus
