Bonnie Quill and Debbie Rinckey from the Glenn Highway National Scenic Byway were our guest speakers today

In addition to our guest speakers, today's guests included our newest outbound exchange student, Sarah Elton, and her father Tom.  Also, our current exchange student from Denmark, Katja.

Katja has moved to a new family, the Yeargen family, in downtown Eagle River.

Martin and Jim presented Pete with his Paul Harris pin today.  Pete is our newest Paul Harris fellow.  Jim's goal for the year is to have 1 more new Paul Harris fellow and to increase the percentage of sustaining members within our club.

We have several announcements:
-Our December 3 meeting will be a Membership Meeting. Brad is organizing it and would like everyone to invite a guest to learn more about Rotary. We keep talking about how we need our club to be bigger - this is how we can do it.

-Tree Lighting Ceremony will be on Friday, December 4. We have all the reindeer handlers that we need, but could still use a couple of torch carriers to light the reindeer's way.

-Gruening would like us to do Choices at their school on November 16 & 17. Please let Brad know if you are interested in participating in that.

-Chugiak High School has asked us to do mock interviews again.  Martha is working on this and will let us know when the dates have been finalized.  It will be early December.

-Eric announced that on the 19th he will be collecting food and money for our thanksgiving basket for a needy family, so please bring either food to donate or money.

Bonnie Quill, the Director of the Mat-Su Visitors and Convention Bureau gave an interesting presentation on the Glenn Highway Scenic Byway.  Becuase the Glenn Highway has qualified for this, it can now be eligle to receive special funding.  They have already received a PR grant to launch a public awareness campaign to make people aware of the neat things that are available along the Glenn Highway.

Jim won $12 in split the pot!
