Find out what happened at this week's meeting...

Martin opened the meeting and Mike Fuller led us in the pledge. We had Chuck Clark, a visiting Rotarian, and Chris Tomsen as guests.

Happy Buck Highlights: Several to mention this week - We sang Happy Birthday to Ruth, Eric scored 2 goals in his hockey tournament last weekend, and Janet Holmsen is up and about after surgery 8 weeks ago and doing well.

Youth Exchange: Meg received an email from Kate Frederick in Denmark. She has been there for 7 months, is having a great time and is totally immersed..

Upcoming Fireside: This coming Saturday, March 13, at the Bushnell's in Wasilla, will be our next fireside. All are invited, including families. It will be a potluck so bring a dish to share. We will be outside and inside, so dress appropriately.

General Announcements: We talked about the Project Amigo trip. I sent out an email on March 4, outlining some of the details. It is also posted on the website below this meeting summary. Basically, the trip is still on, the dates and costs have been set, and if you are interested in participating send me an email and let me know at gamble@mtaonline.net.

Meg just returned from a big Youth Exchange Meeting in Chicago. On the flight back, he and another youth exchange officer came up with a fundraising idea for the devastation in Chile. He suggested a chili fundraiser, called "Chili for Chile" and then donating the proceeds to Shelterbox in the name of Katja, our exchange student. Other clubs in Alaska are doing this in the name of the exchange students. Everyone thought the fundraisier was a good idea, but no one stepped forward to head it up. We decided to think about it and perhaps consider this for a fundraiser at another date. But since Chile needs help now, Martin committed the club to $500 and over the next couple of we will try to raise funds from members to match that $500 for a Shelterbox.

Split the Pot: Ruth, the birthday girl, won $9!

See you tomorrow - Tonya
