March 18 Meeting

Internal meeting today, read the latest annoucements:
Martin opened the meeting today by having our one guest, Brad Bodecker, lead us in the pledge. Brad owns the Chevron business across the street from Johanns.
Our guest speaker had to cancel on us, so we had an internal meeting instead which worked out well since we had lots to discuss.
Pete mentioned that Lisa Murkowski was coming on April 1 to speak at a Chamber Meeting. Since that will be a Thursday meeting, Pete proposed that we have a joint meeting with Chamber on that day. Susie Gorski asked Pete if we would be interested. We discussed this opportunity and decided that it was a good idea.
So, on April 1st we will not be having our regular meeting at Johanns, but rather our meeting will be a joint meeting with the Chamber at the Elks Club. Rotarians will need to RSVP and we will help remind you to do this. Chamber meetings begin at noon, but when a big speaker comes, it is important to be there by at least 11:45am.
There are still spaces available to participate in our Project Amigo trip. Details are below. Pete reminded us all that this will be a trip of a lifetime and will have a definite impact on us, so if you are interested, please let me know.
We have reached both of our Shelterbox goals! We have raised $3000 for 3 shelterboxes for disaster victims. This is a great accomplishment for our club.
Meg won $16 in split the pot and gave it to Katya who is going to Alyeska this weekend.
