June 3 Meeting

WWII veteran Clovis Roberts gave an interesting talk about life during the war and we had a party for Katja since this was her last meeting.
Pam Yeargan, Katja's host mom, joined us today along with our guest speaker, Clovis Roberts, who brought along his wife and daughter.
Since this was Katja's last meeting before she leaves for the West Coast Tour and then back to Denmark, we had carrot cake in her honor. She has been a great exchange student and we wish her the very best in her future.
Announcements:
I-did-a-duck tickets are in. Everyone who attended today's meeting has some, so the selling has begun! Remember that this is our club's big fundraiser and funds all of the things that we do throughout the year. We need every member to sell so that we can reach our goal of $16,000. I have the tickets, so contact me if you don't have yours yet.
I-did-a-duck prizes: Martha will be heading up prizes again this year. Please contact her if you have a prize to add to the prize list. We usually have around 40 prizes so that requires everyone member to give at least one.
Selling I-did-a-duck tickets to Anchorage Clubs: Ruth will be heading this up. Please contact her if you have a relationship with an Anchorage club and can sell tickets there.
June 17 Installation Dinner: We have reserved Johann's for the evening of June 17, 6pm, for our annual installation dinner. There will be no meeting during the day, due to the dinner in the evening.
June 25 Duck Sorting Fireside: Brad and I will be hosting this one at our house. We will share a potluck dinner and then sort the ducks afterwards.
Guest Speaker: Clovis Roberts had many interesting stories of his life during WWII before he went off to war and then while he was in the war. The sacrifices that his generation have made for this country are impressive and would cause an uproar if we were expected to do some of them know.
Split the pot: Pete won split the pot and gave it to Katja for her big trip.
