If you missed the meeting, stay connected

Today's meeting was held at Rotary Park with lunches provided by Chef Stop.  Pete opened the meeting with the pledge, invocation, and yes, he made us sing a song!  Pete had written a song about I-did-a-duck that went to the tune of Camptown Races.  You can imagine the club's excitement!

Visitors Mary Ann Paul had her granddaughter Nadia.  Craig Bledsoe an Anchorage East Rotarian was at the meeting with his daughter, Victoria, who was our club's RYLA rep this year in Whitehorse.  Dr. Steve Parker was a guest of Brad's, Steve is with the new Capstone Family Practice in the Mat-Su Regional building.

Foundation Highlights :  Pete presented Jim with his Paul Harris plus 3 pin for Jim's contribution to the Rotary Foundation.  This presentation is recognition for Jim's substantial support of the Rotary Foundation over many years.

RYLA Overview :  Victoria Bledsoe gave us a quick overview of what she did at RYLA and passed around some pictures.  Victoria definitely enjoyed the experience and felt that she learned more about effective leadership, working together and delegating.  Kathy asked her to wear the duck suit in the parade, but unfortunately she will be in Australia with the Anchorage Youth Symphony during the Bear Paw.

Duck Sorting :  Part of the reason we had our meeting at the park today was to begin to sort ducks.  Now, because of our hard work today, ducks are in bags of 100 and will be further sorted down into bags of 10.  Good job!

  Important Announcements:

·        I-did-a-duck tickets sales are happening now, keep selling and get more from Tonya.

·        Get your I-Did-a-Duck prizes to Martha once you have them.

Next Week's Meeting :  Will be back at Johann's with guest speaker Greg Durocher from Nike Site Vets who is going to tell us what it was like living and working up at Site Summit and the brand new developments toward preservation. .
