Stay connected with the club even if you missed the June 11 Meeting

June 11 Meeting Update
Pete opened the meeting by reminding members how much our club does in the community by reading 3 thank you letters. One from the Eagle River Nature Center thanking us for our $500 donation for flowers matched with $250 from Mile 5.2 Greenhouse and also thanking us for our work day on May 30th were we had 16 people working hard. The 2nd letter was from Wasilla Rotary thanking our club for the $3000 donation that we made to Rotaplast for their next mission to Brazil to perform cleft palate surgeries in which Brad Gamble and Debbie Bushnell will be a part of the mission. Lastly, a letter from a CHS student thanking Pete for his participation in mock interviews. For our size, our club does a lot.
Visitors: Mary Ann Paul had two visitors, her granddaughter Nadia is back for the summer and Mary Ann's mother, Mia Bassler, was here from Anchorage. Also, Eric Tomsen, our Ambassadorial Scholar, is back in Eagle River for the next month and joined us for lunch.
Happy Buck Highlights: Meg invited us all to his cabin on Red Shirt Lake the weekend of July 17-19. More details will follow from Meg.
Guest Speaker: Dr. Cima Pillsbury gave a fascinating talk on acupuncture and oriental healing arts. She is a licensed, board-certified Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist with the Center for Natural Medicine in the UAA building in Eagle River. She is trained in nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, physical medicine and counseling. As usual, we had lots of questions for her and she even gave an acupuncture demonstration.
