Gracjan Korczynski Heads Home

Our most recent exchange student, Gracjan Korczynski, from Poland with his going-home gift from the club: An Alaska Aces jersey. Gracjan arrived in Alaska in August 2008 after a 20-hour flight from Poland.
He recently ended his experience as a Eagle River Rotary Exchange student which included a welcoming gathering last fall with other Rotary exchange students in Alaska and a recent tour of Disneyland, Las Vegas, Reno, San Francisco with Rotary Exchange students from western region states. We will miss Gracjan and look forward to our next club sponsored exchange student coming from Denmark. More than 8,000 young people each year have experiences like Gracjan through Rotary Youth Exchange. Our club, with the support of local host families, normally hosts one incoming exchange student each school year and we concurrently send out one local student for exchange to other countries . It's the opportunity of a lifetime for both the student and host families who become familiar with international customs and languages.
