AS YMCA Donation & July 23 Mtng

Rotary Club of Eagle River area presents a check for $1,000 to the Armed Services YMCA.  This and the Armed Services presentation were the highlights of the July 23 Meeting

July 25 Meeting Summary:  Visiting guests were JD Meecham and Anchorage Downtown Rotarian Dave Gomez.  Jim Palmer presented the club with a flag from a Washington DC Rotary Club. 

Guest Speaker:  Dave Gomez with ASYMCA explained the history of ASYMCA and gave an overview of all the programs that they do in Alaska.  The number of programs that exist, many of them started by our own Pete Mulcahy, are very impressive for the staffing that they have.

YEO Annoucements:  Our inbound student, Katja, from Denmark will be arriving on August 12.  Kate Frederick, our outbound, will be leaving on July 31 to Denmark.

Split the Pot:  Bobby Jefts won a whopping $12 and donated it back to the AS YMCA.  Way to go Bobby!
