Find out about all the projects we have going on right now, if you need a makeup there are lots of upcoming opportunities.

Today was our club assembly led by President Martin. We have got a lot of service projects just starting, in progress, or just wrapping up and that was the main focus of our discussion today.

-Scholarship applications are in Al Bowler's State Farm Office. If you have volunteered to review them, please get down there this week to do that.

-Hard Hat Day at Camp Carlquist is this Saturday from 10am-1pm. This is a great way to support an important program for our youth and a fellow club member, Owen Stribling, who is a scout executive. Pete and Brad are organizing a work group from our club which will meet at Camp Carlquist at 10am. Everyone is encouraged to attend and to bring work gloves. Lunch will be provided.

-On May 2, Greg Mortenson's mother, Dr. Jerene Mortenson, will be speaking at Joy Lutheran Church at 7pm. This should be a fascinating talk and is open to everyone. Greg Mortenson is the author of "Three Cups of Tea", a great book about building schools in Pakistan and Dr. Mortenson has done a lot of work in Tanzania.

-Martha is looking for people to conduct mock interviews with CHS students on May 4 and May 5. Let her know if you can help and see the emails from her for the details.

-Highway Clean-Up will be May 8 at 10am in the UAA parking lot in ER. The first one of the year is always the hardest and Dog needs EVERYONE, so please be there! Meet for breakfast at Piccolino's at 8:45am for energy.

-District Conference is May 13-16 at the Captain Cook in Anchorage. Sign up to just attend the District Assembly on Thursday for just $35 or if you can't make that, Brad is selling lunch tickets ($25) for Friday's lunch. Attending the conference in some format is a great way to meet other Rotarians and learn about the bigger world of Rotary outside of our club.

- May 22 is our clean-up day at the Nature Center from 11-2pm. Afterwards, we will have a fireside at Martha's house which is very close to the Nature Center.

-Ididaduck is coming soon! Pete is working on gathering the top 3 prizes so that we can get the tickets printed. Al Bowler has generously donated his Florida timeshare again this year for the 2nd place prize. Thanks Al! The parade is on July 10th and we need EVERYONE to sell raffle tickets during the parade. It is also time to start gathering prizes.

- We are still working on getting more people for our Project Amigo project from March 5-13 in 2011. We need to get the minimum of 20 people so if any of you have friends who are interested, we are not requiring that people be Rotarians to go. A deposit of $600 is due by June 15 and I will be starting to work on airfare very soon. A more detailed update will be posted to the website soon.

-Choices and Most Improved Student Luncheons are finished for the school year! Thanks to Brad and Mary Ann for heading up those programs. Also, thanks to Don Black for selecting our RYLA students for this year. RYLA takes place next week in Juneau.

-Thanks to Steve Hackley for redesigning the homepage of our website. There is a lot more there on the first page and it looks great.

Whew! I know that was a lot - but we are doing a lot. We need everyone's help to pull all of these projects off successfully.

Split the Pot - Owen won today!

Next Week: Curtis McQueen with Eklutna Corp.
