EDH Rotarians working the COVID vaccination clinic. EDH Rotary is so fortunate to have so many members in education, Firefighters, and other professionals who want to help get our community members vaccinated against Covid-19. Today we are giving 2nd doses to community members, educators and other eligible groups!
We've done it again! Thank you EDH!   It is our pleasure to serve the needs of our community and beyond. Looking for a way to give back? Join our club! We have fun and do a lot of good in the community.

Our first hybrid meeting! First in person club meeting since March of 2020. Temperature checks, modified seating and boxed breakfasts from West Coast Events.
EDH Rotary Celebrates it's 30th Birthday today October 24. EDH Rotary was Chartered by the Cameron Park Rotary Club on October 24, 1990. On this same day in 1985, Rotary started it's global efforts to erradicate Polio Myelitis from the Globe. Happy Birthday EDH Rotary and to a shout out to Rotarians all around the world who strive to eliminate this horrible disease from the earth!
El Dorado Hills CSD and The
Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills
partnered to deliver a new event to get outside and safely explore CSD parks through our inaugural Community Key Hunt, held Saturday, August 1 through Thursday, August 6, 2020! The goal was to give the community families a chance to get to know more about the great parks in the area, and have fun in the outdoors in a safe and fun way!

Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills’ meetings might look more like “The Brady Bunch” intro these days but its mission has not changed — serve the community.

Members have missed gathering for breakfast every Wednesday morning but they haven’t let their meal funds go to waste. For the last several months money that would normally pay for eggs and bagels instead went to The Upper Room Dining Hall in Placerville, which serves the homeless and anyone else who needs a good meal. Food is served 365 days a year.

Honorary EDH Rotarians and the expert chefs behind West Coast Events, David Maestas and Jan Parker, took delicious food to the nonprofit April through July— barbecued chicken, bratwurst, homemade salads and much more. With Rotarians’ funds, they provided 2,979 meals.

“I think the best part of it was the quality of the meals was excellent,” said Upper Room Executive Director Charles McDonald at a recent Rotary Zoom meeting. “Our guests enjoyed it.” “We are glad to be able to donate and help,” said EDH Rotary Club President Aaron Palm.

EDH Rotary/West Coast Events’ donation is one of several acts of goodwill for which McDonald said he’s very grateful. COVID-19 put a lot of pressure on the organization — volunteers backed out, demand for food (now served to-go) went up and fundraisers were canceled.

Due to the concern about the Covid 19 Pandemic, our Rotary Club has cancelled our in person meeting and moved to an online format. We held our first ever online meeting last week. El Dorado County Educational leaders (and Rotarians), Superintendent Dr. Ed Manansala, Buckeye Union Superintendent Dr. David Roth, Rescue Union Superintendent Cheryl Olson, and Oak Ridge High School Principal Aaron Palm gave an update on how the schools in our county are handling having all the students remote. Short answer: the kids of the county are in good hands and everyone is pulling together to rapidly transition to remote learning.

We also heard from El Dorado Hills Community Services District General Manager Kevin Loewen about how the CSD is handling the parks, reaching out to our Seniors and youth to continue to provide services to those in need during this unprecedented time. One of our members described the meeting as "Very heartwarming to hear how our community is coming together to help and support one another in this time of crisis." We invite members of our community to join our upcoming meetings online.

All of our April meetings will be held online from 7:15 to 8:30. Our April meetings will be available to the public on FB Live from our club page. Guests or potential new members can contact us at edhrotary@gmail.com.

Our local Village Life readers  chose our Rotary Club as the "Best Charitable Organization." The Peoples Choice Awards were given out on February 24. Representing our Rotary club were Club Secretary - Carl Daniel, Past Presidents - Bill Tobin and Noel Stack and President - Sherie Tobin. A big thank you to the community for the recognition and your support.

At our meeting today we were thrilled to induct two new members. Gay Willyard is a longtime EDH resident and Manager of a local mobile home community. Larry White transferred to us as a retired educator. Welcome to our club!
