1998-99 - John Wertymer, President

The club named retiring school superintendent Sam Mikaelian an honorary Paul Harris Fellow. Community Service grants of $15,000 were distributed, along with monies to a literacy project in Brazil and two $750 scholarships for vocational students. Rotarian Herb McDowell served as Host Counselor for inbound Ambassadorial Scholar Boris Trautmann. Club members again volunteered in a food booth at the Wilmette Community Fair to raise charitable funds, and provided refreshments for the Village's May reception for new residents, a continuing contribution. The Austrian student exchange and beach sweep continued, as it had yearly. Rotarian-of-the-Year: Kim Wojack.
