Brian King, Wilmette Chief of Police, spoke to the Club at its July 5 meeting about public safety. One of the most important messages he wanted to convey was how important it is that the residents take common sense actions to help discourage would-be criminals. For instance, if fewer people left their cars unlocked, the northern suburbs would be a less attractive destination for criminals looking for easy cars to steal. At the end of the program, Club members expressed their appreciation for Chief King's service to Wilmette and wished him luck in his new position in Hinsdale.
