The Villa Park Rotary Club was chartered November 6, 1971 as a community service organization dedicated to serving the local and international community. The Club has been responsible for many community improvements, including the gazebo along the Prairie Path, Rotary Park, two play lots, and the clock at Park and Ardmore. Club members also have donated their time mentoring students at area schools, distributing food and gifts to people in need in our area, and housing exchange students. Additionally, we have supported many local organizations through our financial donations, such as Easter Seals, Ray Graham Association, Tri-Town YMCA, The Humanitarian Service Project, and literacy programs in conjunction with the Villa Park Public Library and schools. The Club has also contributed money for disaster relief, the eradication of Polio, equipping operating rooms in Bolivia and Peru, sending dentists to perform oral surgery to Mexico, sponsored exchange students to obtain better cultural understanding. Our current international project is in support of construction of bore wells and a small medical center in a rural area of Kenya.
