Congratulations to our 18/19 Club President Lori Corrigan and the club’s Board of Directors who were inducted at our June 5th installation dinner at Schaumburg’s Bahama Breeze by 17/18 Rotary Dist 6440 Governor Don Brewer.

Corrigan joined the club in October 2014 and has served in a variety of positions since then and most recently as the liaison between this club and the Interact Club of Robert Frost Jr. High School.

At its May 9th club meeting Rotarians gathered at Lakeview Elementary School in Hoffman Estates to present a $10,000 check to the School District 54 Education Foundation’s Food 4 Thought breakfast program.

This donation, which is the single largest ever made by the Rotary Club of Schaumburg A.M. over its 28-year history of community service, makes it possible for this club to sponsor breakfast for eligible Lakeview students for an entire year.

Rotarians Brian Bieschke, Tim Gerhardt and Sharon Perry served a Mother’s Day lunch consisting of appetizers, salad, finger sandwiches, desserts and tea to more than 40 seniors who gathered at the Schaumburg Township office on Friday, May 11.

Schaumburg AM Rotary is one of several Rotary Clubs participating in a Rotary Foundation Global Grant project that provides after-school academic counseling programs for at-risk students from vulnerable families who attend Da Dau Jr. High School located in the Da-Du District, Taichung City, Taiwan. The program focuses on supporting basic education in addition to improving student literacy.

The grant award is in the amount of $74,000+ and is funded through donations made by participating Rotary Clubs and Districts that were then matched by The Rotary Foundation.
