Join us to hear Stephen Sanders, a career Foreign Service Officer, currently serves in the US Department of State's Office of Chinese and Mongolian Affairs where he covers China political-military affairs issues. Prior to this assignment he completed a tour in Cairo in the Consular Section and as Staff Assistant to the U.S. Ambassador to Egypt. He was previously a Consular Officer in Shanghai.
Before joining the Foreign Service, Sanders worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the New Orleans area and as a Teach for America teacher in New York City. Originally from San Diego, California, Sanders holds a BA in History and Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a law degree from Tulane University. He speaks five languages.

A Past President of the Rotary Club of Northwest Austin, Oliver Smith, Jr. served in the US Army Corps of Engineers, worked for Exxon Co, BASF, and the Frit-Lay co. to name a few. Or see Jenn Gillen who worked the COVID floor and serves as a medical surgical nurse. During the most challenging times of COVID she initiated morale boosting activities such as dinners and gift bags to encourage her fellow staff to persevere.
