Barrel drop-off in Northbrook and Glenview was nearly flawless this morning. Only Gloria Dei didn’t answer their bell – and I know they hadn’t been confirmed any way this year.
Here is the status, just so Gary can double-check and match things up with his pickup volunteers. (Gary, please send me the list of folks – and e-mails if any new ones.)

I received an update regarding our new fundraiser. We are a week into it and have three weeks to go (it ends 11/19). As of today, ONLY 28 people signed up and we sadly have only earned $531.20. If you have not signed up, please click the link below and pass it on to a non-Rotarian who can assist us. This is an easy and fun fundraiser in which you rate businesses and brands online.
The ratings take up to two minutes each. You can do as many ratings as you like with a maximum of seventy-five. The more ratings you do means more money for Northbrook Rotary.
On November 12th we will have a meeting of The Board of Directors at 12:15 PM at The Hilton Hotel. I will be calling on each committee chairperson to provide an oral report as to their committee's recent achievements, future projects and concerns. I would appreciate all Board members making it a priority to be present for this meeting. In the event a Board member cannot attend the meeting, please either find a proxy to present your report or send a written report to me and I will read it at the meeting.
Any non-Board member who wants to address The Board should email me no later than 5 PM November 7th, and I will add you to the agenda.

In recognition of our October 1 meeting which is the distribution of food insecurity grants to four charitable organizations, we hope that everyone brings at least one bag of items from the list so that the pantry may continue to appropriately serve their clients. If you cannot attend this meeting, Gary Moriello has graciously offered his home (4275 Lindenwood, Northbrook) as a drop off point and he will bring the food to our meeting.

Happy Sunday and hope you are enjoying a relaxing weekend.
As we are now fully running in our 2024-2025 Rotary year it is also incumbent on us to start planning for next year. Specifically, our club maintains a number of Committees that allow you to get involved, stay involved, and make a difference for our club and our community.
Following are the Committees that are available in Northbrook Rotary:
• Club Service – supports the ongoing meetings of Northbrook Rotary
• Community Service – supports our interaction with the community and grants
• Fundraising – drives our ability to make investments in our community
• International Service – enables our club to localize international grant opportunities
• Membership – works with existing members and outreach to potential members
• Public Image – creates and maintains awareness of Northbrook Rotary
• Rotary Foundation – coordination point between Rotary Foundation and our membership
• Vocational Service – supports our club's outbound vocational endeavors
• Youth Service – support our club’s outbound youth services
As we plan for the 2025-2026 Rotary year and you consider how you would like to make a difference in Northbrook Rotary, please let me know any and all committees that you have an interest in to drive meaningful contributions.
On 10/21/24 we began a new fund-raiser overseen by a company named HundredX.
It involves no monetary outlay from you, your family or friends. The fund-raiser will involve each of us selecting and rating, by email text or both, up to 75 brands or companies from a list of 3000.
SCOPE:
The ratings are simple and can each be done in less than two minutes.
For each we will receive $1.60 with a maximum recovery of $10,000 for the club.
The project will end on 11/18/24.
All opinions are private and personal information will not be shared.
We will not be able to reach $10,000 with our present membership of 54. Therefore, Denis is requesting that each member recruit at least one non-Rotarian, over the age of 18, to take part in this survey.
My Update: Simple, there are businesses we all use. Takes some time. Gives you a little voice to share good and not so good experiences -all to help companies.
