Business Expo!

Rotary in Action – Monday, July 25th

Our club will be “exhibiting” at the upcoming Multi-Chamber Business Expo. This is a great opportunity to meet people who might be good additions to the club for membership, volunteering or sponsorship!
Rick is creating a digital visual display to share the Rotary opportunities both globally and locally. If you have photos -add to a jump drive and bring to the July 19th meeting. We will have 4-way test cards to hand out too.
Our club members, as members of the chamber, may attend the show for free, their non-member guests are $20. Pre-registration is required. Because our entire club is not in the chamber database – email to sign up for a comp ticket before July 21st. Guests can sign up and pay on the chamber website.
The admission includes a drink ticket and small bites. Club members walking the show will meet and network with other chamber businesses.
At our “booth” we will focus on building the awareness of the Rotary Club; RI; Sponsorship opportunities; Volunteering; Membership. Here are some ways we can engage folks:
  • Raffle to grab biz cards: Prize? a lunch meeting invite!
  • Let’s encourage attendees to sign up for a Bulletin subscription. This communication will keep them informed about upcoming events and sponsor opportunities.
If you have ideas – contact Helen directly.
Bridge the Gap...

Celebrating the International Day of Friendship

International Day of Friendship is a day to appreciate and promote friendships from all backgrounds. The day is celebrated across the globe on July 30, 2022 and aims to bridge the gap between factors such as race, language and culture.
Authentic World Harmony is the need of the hour, so Who's In Charge to Lead Others to an Authentic World Harmony? Can we unify to sing to a new melody of Hope and Happiness? On International Friendship Day, let us come together to value our natural creative power.
Let us celebrate the day with a motivational talk by Dr. Pauline Crawford.
This event is a joint initiative of Rotary E-Connect (3190) & Rotary Club of Global Impact (7680)

Sharing the human spirit through friendship
Our world faces many challenges, crises and forces of division — such as poverty, violence, and human rights abuses — among many others — that undermine peace, security, development and social harmony among the world's peoples.
To confront those crises and challenges, their root causes must be addressed by promoting and defending a shared spirit of human solidarity that takes many forms — the simplest of which is friendship.
Through friendship — by accumulating bonds of camaraderie and developing strong ties of trust — we can contribute to the fundamental shifts that are urgently needed to achieve lasting stability, weave a safety net that will protect us all, and generate passion for a better world where all are united for the greater good.
The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.
The resolution places emphasis on involving young people, as future leaders, in community activities that include different cultures and promote international understanding and respect for diversity.
To mark the International Day of Friendship the UN encourages governments, international organizations and civil society groups to hold events, activities and initiatives that contribute to the efforts of the international community towards promoting a dialogue among civilizations, solidarity, mutual understanding and reconciliation.
The International Day of Friendship is an initiative that follows on the proposal made by UNESCO defining the Culture of Peace as a set of values, attitudes and behaviours that reject violence and endeavour to prevent conflicts by addressing their root causes with a view to solving problems.
It was then adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1997.
