Below is a link to Sign-Up Genius that sets out the dates, times, and places where we can sell Rubber Ducky tickets. Most of the shifts are 1.5 hours, so hopefully every physically capable Rotarian will be able to volunteer for at least one shift. There are two sign-up slots for each shift, so that if you wish, you can team up with someone else (Rotarian or non-Rotarian). Teaming up makes the shifts much more enjoyable.
A table and two chairs will be provided at the following venues: Tuesday's in the Park, National Night Out,Party on the Green, and Northbrook Days. At all other venues, we will need to bring our own folding table and two chairs. (Please see Gary or Denis if you need help with this.) You will receive QR chips to give to anyone interested in Rotary along with our written explanation of the purpose of Rotary.
The next Satellite meeting is Thursday July 13th at the Acorn restaurant at 5:30 pm. This is an important meeting to install new members and to discuss the upcoming Service Project.
Monday, July 17th - - We will be volunteering with the Center for Enriched Living (serving adults with developmental disabilities). That evening, 6:30-8:30, is their “Guys Night” and we will teach them how to prepare and cook a nice Breakfast. We will then all enjoy the meal together.

Sandy Frum met with Rick Rosenfeld to plan the scope the 2023 Annual Coat off your Back drive. Here is their report. Please note there are some details being worked out -and are fluid at this point – but please put this on your volunteering radar.
Here are some notes and minor action items. Rick (who will again be the overall leader of the event) will provide more details as we need it. He will be using his RosenfeldGroup.com e-mail address for Coat off your Back. Like many members – using multiple emails work vs personal etc. helps to segregate info and may require using an event related subject line-to help keep things flowing!
Timing.This is the most significant change. November 1 to December 15 Based on feedback from the recipient charities, ending the coat drive after the holidays is too far into the cold season. It also creates crunches for volunteers who aren’t as readily available during Christmas week.
Clubs involved: “I want to grow this responsibly. Last year was mostly Northbrook and the two Glenview Clubs. Deerfield mostly did their own thing. GBS Interact was negligibly involved, but their new officers seem highly enthusiastic.”
Under consideration:
Northbrook, Glenview, Glenview Sunrise. All confirmed.
Deerfield likely to be more integrated this year
GBS Interact likely to be more involved.
Wheeling – I will discuss via Jim Bradley and Tamiye Meehan.

Sorting (Saturdays). Last year this was almost all Glenview Noon. I would like to see members from each club be part of the process, fostering cross-club interaction.

Publicity – Kathi Quinn will head up and work with the other clubs PI’s to coordinate across our various communities and village/town government offices.
General flow, once we get going. This gets coats from individual donor to recipient charity in 4 to 11 days.

This is a great event to leverage membership opportunities! Invite people to participate and help! We hope NB Satellite will join in too. Please work with Rick, and our club coordinator Gary.
Breakfast, lunch, or dinner are all important aspects of being a Rotarian. While it is true that Rotarians do not join solely for the purpose of eating, these meals provide a valuable opportunity for members to come together and build relationships. The camaraderie and fellowship that occurs can strengthen the bond between Rotarians and create a sense of community.
However, the true reason why Rotarians join is to serve. Rotarians have a deep desire to give back to their communities and make a positive impact in the world. They want to help others and work towards creating a better society. This desire to serve is what sets Rotarians apart from other individuals.
By inviting friends and neighbors to join in community projects, Rotarians are not only giving others the opportunity to contribute to meaningful causes, but they are also spreading the values and mission of Rotary. These individuals may initially be drawn to the idea of helping, but as they become more involved, they may also develop a desire to join Rotary and become Rotarians themselves.
The problem of extending an invitation is that it may be declined. Oh, my, someone has rejected me!
NO! the rejection is not to the person extending the invitation but to the circumstances affecting the recipient of the invitation. Timing, work, location, etc. may affect the response. It was not directed to the individual so, there is no reason to take it personal. Accepting the reasons given and extending a ‘rain check’ may solve the potential awkward moment and provide another opportunity.
Growing Rotary is a responsibility that falls on all members. Each Rotarian has a role to play in attracting new members and expanding the reach of Rotary. By actively inviting others to join in service projects and sharing the impact that Rotary has had on their own lives, Rotarians can inspire others to become part of this global network of change-makers.
In conclusion, while breakfast, lunch or dinner may be a part of the Rotarian experience, the true essence of Rotary lies in its commitment to service. Rotarians join to make a difference in their communities and the world. By inviting others to join in service projects, Rotarians can help grow Rotary and ensure that its impact continues to be felt for generations to come.

The quality of the Navajo Nation’s water has been an issue of concern for many years. In 2016, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a report that found that the Navajo Nation’s water contains high levels of uranium and other contaminants.
The EPA’s report concluded that the Navajo Nation’s water is not safe to drink.
Navajo are 67 times more likely than other Americans to live without running water or a toilet. That's an injustice.
1 in 3 Navajo still don’t have a sink or a toilet. So we bring clean, hot and cold running water to families across New Mexico, Utah and Arizona.
