District 6440 Spring Training
District 6440 Spring Training will be held on Saturday, April 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Wojcik Conference Center at Harper College.

Location: Wojcik Conference Center at Harper College, 1200 W Algonquin Rd., Palatine, IL 60067
Focus:The summit aims to provide Rotarians with opportunities to learn, network, and gain actionable ideas to enhance their club's public image, community service, and membership expansion.
Key Topics: The summit will cover topics such as boosting public image, driving community service, expanding membership, funding, Rotary's strategic action plan, and leveraging business community partnerships.
Speakers: The conference will feature keynote speakers, including Tony Bridwell with "The Follower Effect" and Eve Gomez of Rahab's Daughters, who will share her work fighting human trafficking.
Activities: Attendees will have the chance to participate in breakout sessions, network with fellow Rotarians, and visit the House of Friendship to learn about Rotary's initiatives.
Parking: Park in lot Fawell C and enter into SRC door 1

About David:
David grew up in Wilmette and graduated from New Trier. He has lived in Deerfield for 22 years, and is married to a wonderful woman and they have two beautiful children, along with Mr. Wiggles and Chase, both of whom are rescue dogs.
Their two kids include: Brandon (who is a Sophomore at UIUC) and Samantha (a Junior at Deerfield HS). They’re okay too, David says! LOL.
Will Rotary be at Flamingo Friday? It’s Friday May 9 from 5-7 p.m. behind Village Hall. A fun volunteer and outreach event for the club. A table and chairs are provided, club sets up cloth, give-a-ways.

We expand access to quality care, so mothers and children everywhere can have the same opportunities for a healthy future. An estimated 5.9 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, inadequate health care, and poor sanitation — all of which can be prevented.
How Rotary makes help happen
Rotary provides education, immunizations, birth kits, and mobile health clinics. Women are taught how to prevent mother-to-infant HIV transmission, how to breast-feed, and how to protect themselves and their children from disease.
Our impact on the lives of mothers and children
The Rotary Foundation reaches mothers and children in need by giving communities the help and training they need to take control of their own maternal and infant health care.
Rotary makes amazing things happen, like:
Mobile prenatal clinics
Haiti has the highest maternal and infant mortality rate of any country in the western hemisphere. Rotary provided a fully equipped medical Jeep to volunteers and midwives to reach mothers and children in remote areas.
Cancer screening
Rotarians provided a mobile cancer screening unit and awareness trainings around Chennai, India, where there is a high mortality rate of women with breast and cervical cancer due to late diagnosis.
Preventing injuries and deaths
Rotary members launched a $3 million, five-year pilot to save lives of mothers and children during home deliveries in Nigeria. Since 2005, they’ve also repaired 1,500 obstetric fistulas — 500 more than their initial goal — restoring dignity and hope to vulnerable mothers.
Each ticket entitles the holder eligibility for the $1500 raffle prize, a bingo card, usable for all games and complimentary drinks and snacks. Tickets may be purchased at the event. Guests, other than ticket purchasers, will be charged $15 and receive all of the preceding except eligibility for the $1500 raffle prize.
