State of the Village

February 20th - Join Us for a Special Program

Village President Kathryn Ciesla will deliver the 2024 Annual State of Village Address on Tuesday, February 20th to our club at the lunch meeting.

This special event will give our club and guests an overview of the progress and success the Village has had over the past year, as well as the scope of challenges, accomplishments, and goals for the coming year. We will get a glimpse of what comes next - stay tuned for some exciting plans!

A Q&A period will be included. We encourage members to invite their friends, other Rotary members and prospective members so we have a full house to celebrate fellow Rotarian Jim Kucienski’s daughter (& our Village President)!

The Village of Northbrook is supportive of our club. Your attendance is a big thank you!

Success

16 Pints...

Yesterday's blood drive at Sunset Foods was a true success, as SIXTEEN UNITS OF BLOOD were collected during our four hour drive.

That is one unit every 15 minutes!

I asked a couple of people how they heard about the event.  One said the Northbrook Village emailed newsletter (thank you, Village Communications staffers: Nicolas & Inana, for publicizing this event for two straight weeks), and the other from one of our posters.

A special thanks go out to all of the Northbrook Rotarians who volunteered at the event, or donated blood at the event, or, in several instances, did both: Ron Bernardi, John and Sandy Chambers, Irwin Friedman, Donna Lee Gulley, Jodi Joffee (and friend), Dave Masters, Denis Polina and Rick Rivkin!

Thanks are also due to Dago Aguirre, Manager of Sunset Foods Northbrook, and Karen Murphy and all of her Vitalant colleagues, for a quick pivot to a different location within Sunset when the elevator was not available to bring the Vitalant equipment up to the mezzanine level.

Thank you Culver's for the pints!

This was a great example of community service at it's finest.

Donna Lee on the (Rotary) road....

From her Facebook page: "Visited the #2 Rotary Club in the world and explored the Museum of Modern Art. (That’s the end of this wonderful week but Facebook has decided to rearrange the photos so you will have to figure out where the commentary goes…)"
