My Friends: I just wanted to share with you that the Northbrook Symphony Orchestra in addition to its instrument drive, which results in the donation of musical instruments to underserved school children, is also streaming its concerts to their schools all free of charge. We believe in our motto “Music is Life” and act to bring that life to underserved communities.
We enthusiastically believe and know that music does change these children's lives for the better by altering their trajectory, changing their peer group, teaching them discipline which is required in the learning to play an instrument and allowing them to experience the feeling of self-worth by their accomplishments. These experiences were previously denied to them because of their economic condition.
These gifts are game changers for these kids. The streamed concerts are many times the first time they have seen Classical Music performed by young artists right in their own schools.
PLEASE NOTE: Musical Instrument Donations are being taken at The School of Rock in White Plains Plaza on Dundee.
