Sarah Cotter is the new DECA Advisor with Glenbrook North High School this year along with - Mindy Ingersoll, Rebecca Rosenblum, and Michael Rast. She is trying to secure judges for their mini competition.

Each year, GBN DECA, a business competition club, hosts a small competition.  This year the competition will include Glenbrook North, Highland Park, New Trier, and Loyola. Competition categories include marketing, hospitality/tourism, finance, management, and entrepreneurship.  During the competition, students prepare a pitch and role-play a case study scenario to a judge demonstrating their business knowledge for 10-minutes.

DECA is reaching out to business professionals, who would be interested in judging on Thursday, December 7th.  The time commitment would be from 3:15pm-6:00pm. Sarah - would recommend arriving early because school ends at 3:15 and the parking lot can be chaotic.  Also, the end time would be 6pm at the latest, if your event ends earlier, you would be free to leave.

The mini-competition helps the first-year members practice role plays before the regional competition in February.  This is a great opportunity for our students to get competition exposure. If you are interested in judging, please fill out this Google Form and we will reach out with more information.

If you have a conflict with the time and date of our mini-competition or would like to judge another competition, we are always looking for judges for our regional and state competitions. The regional competition takes place on Friday, January 26, 2023 at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont from 7:30 am - noon and the state competition is March 1st from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
