Northern Illinois Food Bank

Morgan is an AmeriCorps VISTA member with Northern Illinois Food Bank. The Food Bank serves a 13-county area in Northern Illinois, spanning from Stephenson down to Kankakee and including Lake County. Over the course of the past 34 years, they have built a strong and intricate network of more than 800 network partners and members such as food pantries, soup kitchens, and youth organizations. With these collaborations, we were able to distribute more than 62.5 million meals to our hungry neighbors last year. Of those, 8.5 million were distributed in Lake County with 159 network partners. While we celebrate this success, we know we’re missing 3.4 million meals in the county.  Morgan is here today to talk to our Rotary Club to raise awareness for our area and gain support.  Please join us this Tuesday as we learn more!
