The Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods has Holiday spirit, even if it was sunny and 50 degrees out on Saturday.  Jim Dopler, Ryan Biirch and Adam Keppel braved the elements to ring the bells for donations on behalf of the Salvation Army.  We covered the East door at Mariano's for six hours.  The change jingled as it was dropped n the kettle.  Dollar bills were folded several times over in order to fit through the narrow opening in the kettle.  This was our first year getting involved in fundraising for the Salvation Army.  We certainly hope it won't be our last.  The store customers were very generous.  Some made donations on the way in to the store, others on the way out.  Some customers even had their children deposit the donations.  What a great way to teach children the meaning of charity, and how to help their neighbors.
