Rotary Club Serves up Community Dinner at Emmaus House

Thanks to everyone who came out to help prepare and serve dinner on Sunday evening at Emmaus House in Lake Zurich.  Participating Club members included: Jim Dopler, (Marilyn Dopler), Lyle Staab, Jon Jansky, Ed CruickshanK, (Stephanie Cruickshank) and Bill Ferreira.  The meal consisted of Fried chicken, peas, corn, potato salad, pasta salad, garden salad, veggie tray, coffee, and lemonade.  We had over 170 guests attending, which one of the highest headcounts of the year.  Emmaus House does a tremendous job of servicing those in need of food in Lake County.  They host this Sunday evening meal every week, along with a food pantry of donations from local food stores including Jewel, Marianno's, PeaPod, etc.  A core group of church volunteers has been running the program for more than ten years.  Emmaus House is a ministry of St. Francis de Sales Catholic church.  This is the third time our Rotary Club has sponsored the meal.  The Rotary Club of Lake Zurich also sponsors the meal several times per year.
