On Friday, April 29th, several Club members attended the Memorial Service for Founding Club Member, Jim Runnfeldt.  Those attending included Jim Dopler, Lyle Staab, Ryan Birch, George Dorner, Bill Ferreira, Sara Knight, Aaron Underwood (and Angie), and Lucy Adduci.  Former Club member Wally Fricker and his wife even came down to join us from Galena, IL.  Numerous other Rotary members from around the Chicago area were also on hand.  The service was held in the Chapel at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, where Jim was a long time member and a volunteer.  There were over 100 friends and family in attendance.  Three of those attending were invited to speak as part of the program.  Jim's son was the first speaker to give everyone some insight into the family man.  Bill Ferreira was next up, to provide some perspective on Jim's involvement in Rotary for much of his life.  And finally, a member of Willow Creek Hospitality ministry was asked to speak, representing one of the many volunteer teams that Jim served on at the church.  At this morning's breakfast meeting, Bill Ferreira added that perhaps the best way we can all honor Jim is to keep the Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer, and Hawthorn Woods a vibrant, service oriented Club in the communities we serve.  Jim certainly gave us all a good example to follow.
