Club Business: Janice Kellman called the meeting to order. The following discussion took place:
  • Planning (Serge) for July 4th 5k race should begin now.  Because it falls on a Monday, this might pose attendance issues.  Lots of ideas needed on how to increase marketing, awareness, and draw sponsors.
  • SHS rotary club is planning fund raiser comprised of hot choc + donuts, targeting the week of Feb. 14th.  They presented slides to the group to explain what they intend on doing.  They will need 1-3 adult volunteers for the lunch hour set up.  Alan encouraged them to solicit donations of food and beverages before going to SHS admin.  Rotary is not putting funds toward this.  The students asked about places to donate the money raised – CASA is always in need and would appreciate any support from Rotary.
  • Our club still has $240 left from the $1500 allocated in the fall and may be added to what the SHS kids collect
  • Vocational scholarships ($1500) will be given through the District, our club will collect applications
  • Marina from Carol Stream Rotary talked to us about the golf outing fund raiser, they are selling 400 tix @ $100 each, top prize is Medinah #3 course.  We voted to purchase a ticket to be used for a local fundraiser.
Speaker: N speaker.

Adjourn: The meeting adjourned just after 9:00 a.m.
