Neil Perlman provided a brief update on the status of Alan Nerad's recovery from knee surgery.

Rotary Youth Club - There was no update on Rotary Youth Club.  Brad Burke shared information with guest regarding recent RYC activities and accomplishments.

Karen Van Craenenbroeck provided an update on the status of the monetary donation the club made to the food pantry the previous week. She noted the donation was as a result of excess funds available for distribution after providing gifts/support to the various holiday families.  Karen suggested it may be good to invite the director of the Food Pantry to an upcoming meeting to speak to the club about their recent activities and changes.

Member Installation: District Governor Brewer officially installed new members Janice Kellman and Maria Burger and welcomed them to the legacy of Rotary service.  He encouraged both new members to find their passion in Rotary and the place where they can contribute.

Speaker - District Governor Brewer address the club about various Rotary topics.  He noted it is exciting to be at a meeting where new members are installed and stated it is unique how each club comes together and forms its own identity.  Governor Brewer noted he did not see his club visits as a time to tell clubs what to do.  He suggested it is important for all members to know what they are being led to and give time and attention to those projects. Governor Brewer shared some exciting projects going on in clubs throughout the District - Fox Valley Sunset Club which is taking the concept of food pantry to the next level, and a club in Carpentersville which is taking the mobile food truck concept and merging it with the food pantry idea and it is going out once a week.

Governor Brewer noted the Lincolnshire Club may never be the size to do something like some of these other clubs but is could be a partner with other clubs or local businesses.

He asked the club's members to answer these questions to help guide the club into the future: What do you want? As an individual? And as a Rotarian?

He encouraged members to explore what is on your personal bucket list and as a Rotarian, what do you want?

Governor Brewer also noted he is asking clubs to answer what they would do if they were leader of Rotary/District?  What would you want? A discussion followed regarding how to improve the ABC's of Rotary and how to make it easier to find out what each club is doing in terms of charities.

Governor Brewer encouraged clubs to work together and to cross germinate ideas and brainstorm. He encouraged members to get to know one another and other Rotarians throughout the District.

The Governor suggested the Lincolnshire Club needs to identify 1 to 3 priority things and focus on them.  He suggested making a contract with the club and holding all members to the commitment toward those few items.

Governor Brewer closed with sharing the concept of the 3-legged stool - consisting of mind, health, and the "other."  He suggested members need to find that "other" person or group that can help moved the club forward to achieve its goals.  He encouraged everyone to find the "other" in their personal life but in the Rotary Club as well.
