Club Business/Announcements
Alan Nerad reported the Stevenson High School Interact Club held its first meeting on Monday.  He noted 40 kids were in attendance.  He noted the club is growing which is exciting for all involved.

Brad Burke introduced Britton Jenkins guest and potential new member attending the meeting.  Britton noted he grew up in Lake Forest and currently works at Klein Tools.  He noted he recently graduated from Wittenberg University and is an Eagle Scout.  Members welcomed Britton to the meeting and encouraged him to consider possible membership in the club.

Brad Burke noted the club received formal notification from the District that our grant has been awarded.  Karen provided a brief review of the grant program and noted the donations made at the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays to families in need.  Brad Burke shared a letter received from the Lincolnshire Police Department thanking the club for participating in National Night Out.

Stan noted there appears to be some confusion regarding the speaker schedule and explained that Michelle Gale from the UMMA Center is actually scheduled for September 7, 2017 and not today's meeting.

Neal Perlman suggested he would be able to share photographs from his recent attendance at the International Conference in Atlanta at the September 7, 2017 meeting.

Alan Nerad noted he would be speaking on September 5, 2017 at the Northbrook Rotary Club to provide a report and presentation on the wheelchair project.

Brad Burke inquired if the club was interested in participating in Boo Bash this year.  He noted the event would be held on Friday, October 27, 2017.  A discussion followed and it was the consensus of those in attendance to pursue selling apple cider donuts and hot cider at the event.  Brad noted he would share this information with the Village staff.

Glenn Meier noted Buffalo Grove Days is coming up this weekend.  He encouraged anyone interested to buy a chance on a duck for the duck race.  Glenn also noted Thursday night would be Bingo Night for Buffalo Grove Days, and the Buffalo Grove Rotary Club would be hosting.

Stan Roelker shared that he recently made a visit to see Vic Fernitz; retired club member.  He noted Vic appears to be doing well.

Stan Roelker noted the speaker for next week's meeting will be Michelle Gale with the UMMA Center.
