Since its inception in 1997, the Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club has awarded to 12 recipients (including two couples) Service above Self Award Recognition
1997 - Portia Wallace
Ms. Wallace overcame adversity in her own life and was very active in Big Brothers/Big Sisters plus other youth and women's organizations in Lake County.
1998 - Joyce Quilty
Ms. Quilty was recognized for her tireless efforts as an advocate for senior citizens.
1999 - Dennis & Ronnie Mudd
The Mudds were our first couple recipient. They were recognized for their volunteerism and philanthropic involvement in a wide range of community activities.
2000 - Jim Robbins
Mr. Robbins spearheaded the effort to build a veterans memorial to commemorate Libertyville Township soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms.
2002 - Cindy Harger
Mrs. Harger was recognized for her tireless volunteer efforts with the Lake County Haven.
2004 - John & Pat DeWolf
The DeWolfs were singled out for their extraordinary volunteer work at Condell Hospital and other health care facilities.
2005 - Diane Chapin
Mrs. Chapin was honored for over 30 years of Service above Self working with handicapped children and adults.
2006 - Audrey Lewis
Ms. Lewis was awarded for the founding and running of Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
2008 - Stan Taylor
Mr. Taylor was recognized for creating Malista Foundation to develop a financially self sustaining education center for orphans in Tanzania.
2009 - Barbara Monsor
Ms. Monsor was selected for founding and leading Mothers Trust, at the youthful age of 74 years young!
2010 - Doreen Lagoni
Ms. Lagoni was recognized for founding and singlehandedly operating Bear Magic. She also donated blood over 100 times.
2012 - Diana Schnell
Ms. Schnell was honored for founding and operating Equestrian Connection.
