Providing Scholarship Support for Local Students

The Rotary Club of Evanston provides vocational and academic scholarships annually to students from Evanston Township High School (ETHS). Our scholarship assistance helps ETHS grads study at Illinois institutions, furthering their vocational and professional development.

The scholarship application and selection process is managed by the club’s Youth Service and Scholarships committee and funding comes from the club's Charitable Fund. The committee coordinates the process with ETHS staff, selecting recipients each year.

Robert Girard Scholarships (academic)
These annual scholarships, at $2,000 each, are for graduating ETHS students and are intended for those who plan to enroll in a college or university in Illinois. They are named for Robert Girard, a deceased longtime member of the club.  In recent years, the Charitable Fund has supported three scholarships per year, for a total of $6,000.

Illinois College Scholarships (vocational)
This is a $1,500 annual scholarship, intended for ETHS students who do not plan to pursue a bachelor’s-level college degree after graduation from high school but want to continue their vocational education.  In recent years, the Charitable Fund has supported one Illinois College Scholarship annually.
