Rotary Recognizes Space Achievement

Today, April 12, is the 50th anniversary of man in space (Yuri Gagarin was the first).
This year's recipient of the Rotary National Award for Space Achievement is General Kevin P. Chilton.
Depending on just how space travel is counted, in the 50 years since Gagarin's first flight, there have been a total of 523 humans in space of which 51 were women.
