Kelly Weaver, Executive Director, for the Alexander Leigh Center for Autism provided the Rotary Club of Cary-Grove with a brief history of how the school was started along with some insight into the lives of children impacted by Autism.
The school was founded in 2007 by two mothers who recognized that their children would need much more than what their local school district could provide. What started from 2,500 square-foot facility for two has grown to a 13,000 square-foot facility for 24 students. Visit their website at http://www.alexanderleighcenterforautism.com.
To help offset the Center's ever-rising costs of their programs, the Rotary Club of Cary-Grove will be hosting a "Bag Tournament" event. This will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from Noon to 5:00 PM at Coleman's in the Park located at 645 Industrial Drive, Cary, IL.
